Sage was transferred to the NHSPCA from an overcrowded shelter in Texas. If you can't tell from his photo, Sage greatly dislikes shelter life. He is a shy & sensitive soul who is pining for a calmer environment with less activity than the hustle & bustle of shelter life. Sage was extremely nervous for his veterinary exam but never aggressive - you can tell this poor lad is just frightened and unsure. He is going to need some decompression time in his fur-ever home, as well as a person or family who understands that they will need to take the time to encourage Sage to love them. He does enjoy baby talk and gentle head scratches from folks who take the time to go slow with him, so we believe that he wants to make a connection but is too worried to do so. And today we learned that he LOVES little mouse toys and will carry them around in his mouth! He will likely bond closely with the person who takes the time to win his heart, but he will never be the cat who comes out to greet your household visitors.
