Lila, whose name is short for Apelila (the Hawaiian word for April), is a 2-year-old pitbull/hound mix bursting with spirit. She arrived at KAWS Sanctuary from the local shelter, where her unlimited energy made life tricky for her. At the sanctuary, she found her groove with plenty of fetch, outdoor runs—sometimes up to 3 miles a day—and handlers who set a routine for her. Lila thrives on structure and daily exercise, and this has helped her settle into a calmer headspace. She’s strong-willed and aims to please, always eager for the next adventure. Lila needs to be your one and only pet and is looking for an adopter committed to giving her the activity and guidance she craves.
