About Sage
Sage’s life changed last Christmas when she and her sister were found on the street. Her sister was quickly adopted, but shelter life unsettled Sage, making her anxious and withdrawn. After some time decompressing in a calm home, she warmed up and started showing her playful, affectionate side again. She’s an estimated 3-year-old pit mix who quickly forms strong bonds with her people. Sage is a loyal companion—her initial excitement might come out as a big bark, but she melts into a cuddler once she feels secure. If she’s not nudging close under a blanket for snuggles, she’s eagerly offering kisses. She’s completely house trained and crate trained, happily enjoying meals and downtime in her crate. Sage thrives with structure and brain games. She’s highly food motivated, making her easy to train and perfect for enrichment activities like scent work, puzzles, or chew toys. Car rides are a joy for her, and though she’s energetic during play, she settles into calmness afterward. She’s happiest as an only pet or with a tolerant resident dog, but shouldn’t live with cats. She enjoys children but sometimes gets a bit rambunctious in her play. What Sage needs most is a home that understands her sensitive start and can offer consistent, loving care. Give her that, and she’ll repay you with fierce devotion and affection. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
