Meet Buddy — a 6-month-old German Shepherd / Coonhound mix with a big heart and an even bigger personality. Buddy was welcomed into his foster home in December 2025. He earned his name because he’s basically the canine version of Buddy from Elf — joyful, energetic, slightly dramatic, and completely full of love. Buddy is: • Smart and eager to learn (he catches on fast, especially when treats are involved!) • Playful and athletic • A professional snack enthusiast • A champion cuddler once he’s gotten his wiggles out He loves romping around with his foster sister Autumn and would be thrilled to have another playful dog in his forever home. That said, it’s not a requirement — as long as he has an active family ready to help him burn off his puppy energy, he’ll be a happy guy! Buddy even plays with one of the cats in his foster home — yes, he’s cat-friendly! He’s also been gentle and curious around a 16-week-old baby. He is potty trained with only occasional accidents and is currently working on crate training. He’s still a puppy, so he’ll need continued structure and guidance, but he’s very willing to learn. He can be a bit vocal (thank you, hound genes!) and has mild separation anxiety — he just really loves his people. He’s currently enjoying life with a fenced yard, but more than anything, he needs a family committed to giving him exercise, consistency, and lots of love.
