About Thornton
Thornton is new to the rescue and settling into his foster home in Newport Beach, CA. He’s currently living with two female dogs and is getting along very well with them. At around 3 years old and weighing about 60-65 pounds, he’s a large mixed-breed—a blend of Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler and Shepherd—with a naturally sweet, gentle nature. Thornton was found wandering and followed a young boy home, but when the family couldn’t keep him, they reached out for help. Since coming into care, he’s shed much of his initial anxiety and now greets walks and familiar faces with real excitement. Thornton is both house trained and up to date on vaccines. He warms up quickly with kindness and clearly thrives in a home environment. He gets along with dogs and is also good with children. If you want a loving, devoted companion who is enjoying a fresh start, Thornton is ready for a home where he can keep growing. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
