About Mr Shilo

Mr Shilo is a one-year-old, small Chihuahua/Dachshund mix with a resilient spirit after surviving a tough situation with dozens of other dogs. Since settling into a foster home, he’s really come out of his shell—learning to enjoy toys, zooming around the yard, and curling up for belly rubs. When he first arrived, Mr Shilo was on the timid side, but patience and consistency have helped him gain confidence. He thrives indoors, loves the company of a another friendly dog, and is happy to sleep either in your bed or his own. While food-motivated (and understandably protective about mealtime after sharing with 60 dogs), he’s eager to be part of daily routines and quick to join in for play. He’s also house trained and uses a doggy door, but still needs someone willing to work with him on leash walks. The right family will give him time to build trust and let his playful energy shine. Mr Shilo is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. Click apply to start the adoption process.

Questions about Mr Shilo

Mr Shilo, being a Chihuahua/Dachshund mix, will do best in a stable home where he can enjoy indoor comforts and regular company. His size and temperament make him well suited for apartments or houses.

  • How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?

A securely fenced small yard or regular walks meet the needs of a small dog like Mr Shilo. He loves to run and play, so access to an outdoor area is a plus, but not a requirement.

  • Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?

Chihuahua/Dachshund mixes like Mr Shilo can do well with children if they are introduced properly and kids are gentle. Since his behavior around children is currently unknown, supervision would be wise.
