About Honey
Honey is likely an Australian Shepherd and Blue Heeler mix and is about three years old. She was found pregnant in a parking lot last September and gave birth to six puppies who have since found homes. Now it's Honey's turn to find a place and people to call her own. She is shy by nature, often retreating from unfamiliar people. Building trust with her takes time, and she's quick to sink to the ground or shake on walks if she's feeling nervous. Honey warms up slowly, but once she trusts you, her goofy side starts to show. Her foster parents have noticed she uses a gentle growl around small children to tell them she needs space—she's fine with kids a bit older, but a home without young children is best. She currently lives around other dogs and gets along with them, though there's tension with a Great Dane in her foster home, which means she's been living separated much of the time. Honey needs someone patient and calm, willing to go at her pace, and committed to helping her overcome her shyness and leash fears. If you can offer her the safe, understanding environment she deserves, she's ready to start her next chapter. Give them the home they have been waiting for. Apply today.
