About Rita Fajita Homebody Cutie

Rita Fajita is a sweet, affectionate, quietly funny little homebody who loves her people hard and keeps her circle close. She’s playful without being chaotic, loving, and the kind of dog who will happily flip onto her back like a fuzzy welcome mat the moment you’re within belly-rub range. Want to see her in action? Head to YouTube for ā€œRita Fajita | Sweet Homebody Playful Cuddlebug" https://youtu.be/zSv3FMKcbWg <iframe width="263" height="164" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/zSv3FMKcbWg" title="RITA FAJITA | sweet homebody, playful cuddlebug" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" referrerpolicy="strict-origin-when-cross-origin" allowfullscreen></iframe> In her foster home, Rita has been wonderful with kids, and she’s gentle and ā€œmotheringā€ with her dog friends. She’ll often shadow the toddler like a tiny, loving hall monitor, and she’s known to do sweet little caretaker things, like tending to the other dogs and cleaning their ears. Rita’s vibe according to her foster is soft-hearted ā€œnanny.ā€ Rita’s personality highlights are simple and solid- she’s not noisy, she is super affectionate, and she loves being part of the daily flow. Her foster shared her favorite Rita quirks- Her make the bed ritual is a favorite! The way she scratches and fluffs her bed like she’s prepping a 5-star hotel suite before settling in. We love that! Next are what can only be called doorway zoomies! Basically, when a door is about to open, she sometimes hits turbo mode, especially on the way back inside, where she’ll zoom straight to her bed and dramatically flop down like she just won the race and her prize is rest! In new environments, Rita can take a minute to feel secure. The good news- she’s smart, responsive, and regularly checks in with her people to help her understand the routine and reassurance she is doing good! She does best with calm, clear structure and gentle guidance (she’s a sensitive soul, so kind consistency goes a long way). With other dogs, she’s been fine overall and tends to prefer mellow, medium-energy dog friends who respect her space. Other helpful notes: * Cats: she did well in a cat test, and if you are interested and have a cat, we will happily arrange a sleepover with out Kitty Committee for an official seal of approval. *Home style: she could do well in a house or an apartment as long as she has enrichment, a routine, and a ā€œjobā€ (even if her job is just being your official check-in buddy). *Digging when bored, or hot honestly- Hello Texas Sun, she may pick a spot in the yard and dig a little, then forget about it for ages.A little like her bed-making routine but in the cool dirt. She isn’t trying to go anywhere but maybe an inch down but her foster shared that redirecting her to toys, sniffy walks, or backyard ā€œfind itā€ games usually helps. Rita Fajita is ready for a family who appreciates a loving, loyal dog with gentle energy, excellent cuddling skills, and a signature zoom-to-bed cherry on top. Apply to adopt Rita today!
