Angel is a sweet guy, very cuddly, social and a staff favorite. This poor boy hasn't had it too easy this last year. He and his brother were surrendered after their owners went to a nursing home and senior housing. several months after they were here his brother became sick, was found to have cancer and had to be euthanized. Angel had been with him since birth (adopting puppies together is a bad idea.. look up "littermate syndrome") and lost his best friend. We were really worried that Angel was going to go downhill without his brother. He had a rough couple of weeks after his brother passed but slowly he adapted and is doing fine EXCEPT he has been at the shelter for almost a year and is becoming stressed out. No matter how much a shelter does for a dog IT IS NOT A HOME and sooner or later it will catch up to them. He walks well on leash but he is animal reactive and about 80 lbs so he can be difficult to manage if he sees another animal. He needs to be the ONLY pet in the home as he is very reactive to other animals. Angel has been working on his reactivity and is making good progress to other animals and comes with free training through Handsome Dan's Rescue to help his new family continue to work with him. This does NOT mean he can live with other animals, he will still need to be the only pet in the home but it will help him remain calm when other dogs come into his sight. He is crate trained, housebroken and moderately active.
