Jax
AvailableJax is a male Australian Shepherd with a tricolor (brown, black, and white) long coat. Young and medium-sized, he’s house trained, neutered, and vaccinated. Jax is currently in Los Angeles, CA, looking for an adopter ready for a smart, energetic companion.
About Jax
Jax grabs attention with his striking tricolor Australian Shepherd coat, but it’s his mind that sets him apart. He’s just 2 and already shows how quickly he learns—his focus and drive are impressive. Jax thrives on action and routine: hiking, frisbee, tug, or any challenge that lets him use his energy and intelligence. He’s deeply affectionate and bonds strongly with his people, but he needs clear structure and lots of consistent activity to truly succeed. Jax is crate trained, house-trained, reliable with an e-collar, and comfortable in a muzzle. He knows his "out" command, and training is an ongoing part of his daily routine. With other dogs, Jax does well as long as intros are done properly and rules are kept firm. He’s not a fit for a home with children. His adopter should be experienced, active, and ready to give a working breed what he needs: direction, outlets, partnership—not just walks around the block. Neutered and current on vaccines, Jax is ready to become someone’s loyal, high-octane adventure buddy. For the right person, he’s a genuine find—devoted, smart, and eager to work. Jax, as an Australian Shepherd, is best suited to a home with lots of space and structure—from active suburban or rural homes to city homes with committed owners who provide daily physical and mental exercise.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Australian Shepherds like Jax thrive with access to secure outdoor areas or frequent adventures. A yard is ideal, but regular, vigorous outings are just as important for him.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Australian Shepherds are generally great with older, respectful children but may be too intense for young kids. Jax, specifically, does best in a home without children.
