About Sorrow
Sorrow is a cat who was dealt the absolute worst hand. When she first came to us, we truly couldn't figure out what she had endured. She smelled horrible. Her coat was dirty, with things stuck in it that shouldn't have been. She was painfully thin. She was overwhelmed. It was the kind of intake that sits heavy on your chest. She didn't just look rough, she looked defeated. And yet...somehow, she wasn't. Underneath all of that was a girl who simply just hadn't been given her fair chance yet. Fast forward to now? You would never guess that history by looking at her. She has put on healthy weight. Her coat is soft and glossy. She keeps herself tidy. She stands tall. She is beautiful, not just in appearance, but in presence. Sorrow does have polyps in her ears. They've been thoroughly checked by a vet and are not obstructing anything to require removal. Just think of them as a little extra Pizzazz. But because of this, Sorrow can have boundaries. She still carries a bit of fire at times. And, she's earned that right. She refuses to silently endure discomfort ever again. The most incredible thing about her? She chooses people, even though people at one point seemed to have failed her. But also...Not everyone. Not immediately. She observes. She calculates. She decides. And when she decides you are safe, when she presses into you or looks up at you with those knowing eyes, it feels like being handed something sacred. Sorrow is not a beginner cat. She is not a “grab and go” personality. She is depth. She is resilience. She is a survivor who rebuilt herself piece by piece. She deserves the world, even if the world hasn't proven it deserves her. And the lucky person she chooses as hers? They will understand exactly what an honor that is.
