Twinkle is an 2.5 year old, 48 lb, female Catahoula/Retriever mix. Twinkle is currently located in South Texas and will be transported to her new home. Miss Twinkle Toes was rescued as a brand new mommy. She had evaded capture before and had several litters, but this was her last! Twinkle was initially shy and not used to human kindness, but with patience and a gentle hand, her foster family won her over. She is a pretty girl with her auburn coat and one warm chocolate eye, the other an ice blue, a trademark Catahoula look! Twinkle loves children (must be the mommy in her) and enjoys affection, especially if she can sniff out a treat or two. She is potty trained. She enjoys being outside, sunbathing or splashing in puddles, and can walk on a leash but still needs some work in that department. She is fine with other dogs but is iffy with cats - she will bark at them but her fosters believe she may be a little scared of the kitties. Twinkle is the type of dog that rescues see too often; a mama dog who survived on the streets having litter after litter, and is too often overlooked. This girl is still young enough to learn and have fun, but old enough to have outgrown the crazy, youngster stage - she's pretty calm and chill. She would be a great companion to someone looking for a relaxed dog that would enjoy walks and snuggles and spending time snoozing next to you. Let's give this sweet girl her forever home at last! All dogs and cats are rescued from the state of Texas to be transported to Washington, Oregon, Colorado, Utah, Connecticut, Virginia, Maryland, and others, with placement in their adoptive family’s homes.
