About Opie
Meet Opie. Opie has put in the work and is searching for the right person to see his heart and drive. At about five years old and built like a big dog in a compact, 28-pound body, he’s come a long way from a rough, unstable past. His early life left him wary of people, but after dedicated training, Opie has regained his confidence and trust. He’s shown real resilience—and his transformation is something to appreciate. His breed mix (mostly Cattle Dog and Dachshund, per Embark testing) gives him intensity and grit. Opie now walks calmly on leash, shows solid manners in public, and knows several commands including Sit, Down, Stay, Come, and Place. He’s also e-collar conditioned for reliable recall, crate and potty trained, and friendly with other dogs. (No cats, though.) This little powerhouse needs an adult-only, active, and structured home—ideally someone who takes joy in training, adventure, and fair boundaries. He’s sharp, playful, and happiest with regular exercise and mental challenges. Tug is his favorite game, he’s picking up fetch, and he’ll gladly run or hike with you. After his needs are met, Opie settles in and likes being close by. Opie comes with some solid perks for his adopter: lifetime group classes, three private training sessions, ongoing trainer support, boarding discounts, and access to training videos. He’s neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and kept current on prevention. He’s in Charleston, SC, looking for someone ready to keep the momentum—and the bond—growing. Give them the home they have been waiting for. Apply today.
