A statement from volunteer Sue recently: "We need to put this mush in a kissing booth fundraiser. He’s so sweet and just wants to be loved." You can see from a few pictures here, this is truth! Do you have experience with deaf dogs? Do you have the desire to learn and work with a deaf dog. Either way, this boy is tops! He's such a love bug; as we can see he always seems happy. One of our volunteers remembers him at outdoor school events where everyone came over to see him, pet him and he enjoyed the affection. You wouldn't know he's deaf, as he 'just rolls' like any other dog being born that way. But you would need to always be aware of this disability to keep him safe. We have him on a diet to lose a few pounds for his health. Jasper is ok with kids, with other dogs and possibly cats; we do not test with our cats... but a possible adopter who wants Jasper and is cat/dog savvy enough to handle a dog and cat meeting properly, slowly, patiently, could give it a try. Jasper is approx 2 yr old. Looking into seeing if we have an actual birth date for him. Will update if so. **The dogs need to have two successful meet-and-greets at the shelter, and can go home at the second meet. Please remember ALL dogs and cats once adopted need time to decompress in your home. Focus on creating a calm, safe, and structured environment to help them adjust. Take it slow. This gives you time to get to know their true personality, plus for them to get used to their new home and routine. Stop by to fill out an adoption application and spend as much time as you like with our dogs. Please call your veterinarian to permit them to speak with us for our vet check. If you rent, bring proof (lease/contract) that you are allowed to have a dog. If you have a dog at home, two meet-and-greets are required to make sure they seem compatible. We offer a free session with our trainer, Canine Cooperative, once an adoption is finalized. Ask us about it!! Our adoption fee is $150 for dogs. This includes heartworm and Lyme testing, flea/tick preventatives, deworming, age-appropriate vaccines, and spay/neuter if six months or older.
