Meet Tilly Tilly is an approximately two year old small mixed breed girl, likely a blend of Havanese, Maltese, terrier, and poodle. She is a petite, fluffy white dog with that soft companion dog look and an easy size for most homes and lifestyles. Now that she has had a bath and begun her vaccines, her bright personality is really starting to shine and she is ready to find a foster or forever home in the Los Angeles area. Tilly is an incredibly sweet and people loving dog. She wants to be near her humans and happily follows you around just to be part of whatever you are doing. She is gentle, affectionate, and has a naturally friendly temperament. She does well with other dogs and has been appropriate with children of all ages, making her a wonderful candidate for a family home or a companion household. Tilly is the type of dog who bonds quickly and would truly love being someone’s little shadow and best friend. Her story is heartbreaking but also a reminder of how kind people can be. A Good Samaritan found Tilly in downtown Los Angeles being kicked by a homeless man and stepped in immediately, offering $20 just to get her to safety. One of our board members, Laurie, then took Tilly into her home so we could help her. After finally being safe, cleaned up, and cared for, Tilly has shown nothing but love and trust toward people. Tilly appears to have had no prior veterinary care, so we have started her first rounds of vaccinations and she will continue receiving full vetting through the rescue. She will be adopted with vaccines in progress, microchipped, and spayed per adoption contract if not already completed. As with any dog adjusting to a new home, she will need routine, structure, and gentle guidance while she learns her new environment. Tilly would thrive in a home that wants a true companion dog. She would enjoy a family, a couple, or a single person who wants a loyal sidekick and is able to include her in daily life. She is looking for a safe, loving place where she will never again have to worry about being hurt or abandoned. In return, she will offer affection, devotion, and a very grateful heart.
