About Poppa
Poppa is a charismatic pittie mix with plenty of charm and a strong love for snuggles. This wiggly guy will happily settle into your lap or at your side, always eager for physical affection or a lounging session in the grass. Poppa is house-trained, crate-trained, and knows his basic commands—sit, shake, and lay down are already in his toolkit. He entertains himself well with toys, often switching between moments of solo play and a raucous tug-of-war with anyone willing to join in. His energy fluctuates; while he has laid-back stretches, he hits bursts of high energy and sometimes gets jumpy, especially when overstimulated or playing hard. He’s making progress with car rides and working to become a calm passenger. Poppa has shown some separation anxiety in the past but is improving when given structure and a routine. He lived with a kennel mate and has generally played well with other dogs at the shelter. Still, introductions need to be careful, as not every meeting has been perfect. He will likely do best with ongoing training and without small children in the home due to his occasional rough play. If you are the kind of person who can provide structure and lots of attention, Poppa is eager to bring joy and playfulness into your life. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
