About Larissa
Larissa’s story stretches back to 2020 when a trap brought her, frightened, into the shelter. She arrived wary of people, but over the last several years, volunteers—especially a patient soul named Jana—have earned her trust step by step. Larissa is shy, slow to warm, and easily startled, but she has learned that some people are safe. With those she trusts, she leans in for gentle chin scratches and will follow a laser light across the floor. Her favorite reward is a lickable Churu treat, best dispensed slowly by familiar hands. Larissa needs a calm home with no small children and patient folks who understand that trust with her is earned gradually. She may hide or freeze with new people or in loud environments. You’ll need to move at her pace and commit to many visits before adoption—her best self only comes out when she feels completely secure. For the right person, she’ll show the quiet melt of a shy cat who, once comfortable, is as tender as they come. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
