Strong, protective, and full of love, this momma has been nothing short of incredible. She has poured her whole heart into her puppies, showing just how powerful a mother’s love can be. We first got a phone call that she had been seen wandering around while pregnant, and we rushed to set up a live trap in hopes of bringing her to safety. That night, we actually caught Bluey instead. Just a few days later, we received another call saying she was hiding under someone’s back porch. We went back out immediately—and that’s when we found her laying with her six precious babies, tucked beneath the porch. To reach them, we didn’t even have a shovel. We carefully dug with a broomstick and literally army-crawled under the porch to get to her and her babies, determined not to leave them behind. Behind her gentle eyes is a story of courage and survival, and now she finally has the chance to rest, feel safe, and be cherished.
