At first, he kept his distance—a shy, cautious boy who seemed more comfortable on the margins than anywhere close to people. Even his rescuers thought maybe he would just be a barn cat, not interested in life inside a home. But once he was given time to decompress and join the regular fosters, Wexler revealed layers no one expected. Yes, he’s still shy to start and doesn’t trust easily, but beneath the reserve is a genuinely gentle, quirky soul. His snaggle-tooth grin and crumpled cauliflower ear tell the story of a tough past, but they also set him apart.
