Ash is a gentle, shy cat who's been through the wringer and still has a spark left in him. Rescued at the start of a brutal winter, Ash survived frostbite on his ears, tail, and paws, as well as FIV, respiratory illnesses, parasites, and infested ears. He nearly didn't make it, weighing just six pounds back then. Now, he's a sturdy eleven and has learned the comforts of indoor life. Despite everything, Ash keeps trying. He loves toys, is reliable with the litter box, and patiently waits for his favorite wet food, his striking yellow eyes fixed on you in anticipation. He talks—sometimes—for attention, especially around feeding time. Ash lives for moments of affection, even if they’re on his terms. He adores other cats and will fit best in a calm, patient home with someone who understands shy, complicated cats and can give him a safe, indoor-only life. He cannot survive outside and is not suited for community cat programs. A cat-savvy, deeply patient adopter will give Ash the best shot at a happy life. He’s not the bold, immediately affectionate type, but he genuinely wants to bond.
