About Virginia
Meet Virginia, a lovely young tabby who just celebrated her first birthday at the shelter. Her foster days helped her adjust to the world, but most of her young life has been spent in the care of others rather than in a home of her own—a fact that never sits right. She came to the shelter as a tiny, frightened kitten after a rough start where too many cats shared too little space. With support and patience from a foster family, Virginia started to come out of her shell and find her bearings in the world of humans. Virginia depends deeply on the company of other cats for her sense of comfort and security. A home with feline companions would suit her best—she blossoms when she knows another cat is nearby. Meeting new people still makes her a bit wary, and she likes to have her space, but give her time to trust and you'll see her gentle, quiet side. She sticks close to those she knows, often perched in a cat tower, sunbathing and watching the world drift by. It’s hard to see such a sweet, independent soul spend her formative years waiting for a family. Virginia is spayed, fully vaccinated, and hoping for days beyond shelter walls. Virginia was born on March 12, making her a Pisces—classic for a cat with a gentle, dreamy spirit. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!

Virginia, as a Domestic Short Hair mix, does well in a calm home environment where she has access to cozy spots and other cats for company. Apartment or house living both suit her as long as she feels secure.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Domestic Short Hair cats like Virginia are best as indoor companions. They benefit more from windows, climbing structures, and enrichment toys than from outdoor space.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Virginia can adapt to a patient household, but given her shy and independent nature, she would likely do best in a quieter home or with older, gentle children.
