Zipper is a 10-year-old Maltese whose life has taken a few tough turns. When he came back into rescue, he was dealing with missing fur, itchy skin, and a recently sustained neck injury. The vet discovered he also has a heart murmur and early cataracts. He’s since had a dental and now receives regular allergy shots, medicated baths, and needs food without additives. Zipper is house trained and very clear about what he needs—he’ll let you know when he wants to go out or if his water bowl is empty. He enjoys short periods of fetch, brief hellos on walks, and time near other dogs, but gets overwhelmed after about 20 minutes. Zipper is best suited for a quiet home with no kids or other dogs, and he’s more comfortable with female caretakers. He prefers calm environments—loud trucks and bikes stress him out.
