About Cherish
Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started. Meet Cherish, an approximately 3-year-old, 21 lb. small Dachshund/Bulldog mix, ready to find her forever home! Cherish came to her current rescue with a canine companion but has shown she may prefer to be the only dog. Reserved at first, Cherish has blossomed in her foster home, revealing a sweet and loyal personality—always on patrol by the window or comfortable curled up on the couch in her favorite blanket. She’s playful in bursts and affectionate, though her need to keep tabs on the world sometimes shortens cuddle time. Her foster describes her as ‘a wonderful dog’ who is treat-motivated and eager to learn new things. She currently does not know any commands, but with her bright spirit and motivation, she’s likely to pick them up. Cherish has had excellent crate manners and is about 90% house trained—she would do best with a consistent potty routine to finish her potty training. She’s not fond of the bath sprayer but enjoys walks (especially with treats as rewards!). A vigilant spirit, she’ll likely thrive in a home where she can perch by windows and participate in household happenings. Given her reactivity with other dogs, she’d prefer to be the center of your attention and may need to be your only canine. Cherish is up to date on vaccinations, spayed, and microchipped. She’s ready to leave her foster perch at Mostly Mutts for a caring home where she’ll truly be cherished. This could be the start of something paw-some.

Questions about Cherish
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
A Dachshund/Bulldog mix is generally best suited for homes where they have enough space to be comfortable while remaining close to their family. They adapt well to both apartments and houses as long as they get regular attention and exercise.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
This mix does not require a large yard, but regular walks and playtime outside are important for their well-being. Access to a small yard or safe outdoor area is a bonus, but they can do well as indoor companions with daily outings.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Dachshund/Bulldog mixes can be suitable for families with gentle, respectful children, though supervision is always recommended, especially with younger kids.
