Pumpkin is around 7 to 9 years old and was rescued from a high-kill Alabama shelter, where she was treated for heartworm. She gets along well with people and other dogs, and initially integrated nicely into her foster—and later adoptive—home. However, after a few months, she started guarding food from the other resident dog. Because of this, Pumpkin’s best fit is with an experienced dog owner or as the only pet in the household.
