About Watson
Watson is a large white mixed-breed dog with a gentle presence. He tends to be shy when meeting new people, but with a little patience and kindness, he gradually opens up and becomes a loyal friend. If you put in the time to earn his trust, you’ll find Watson is incredibly affectionate and devoted. He loves being around people who help him feel safe, and his favorite thing is relaxing in a quiet home where he can simply enjoy being himself. Currently, Watson is being treated for heartworms and will need a calm, low-key environment while he recovers. He’s under exercise restriction, which means no roughhousing or long runs for now—leash walks and quiet downtime are ideal. Any potential foster or adopter should be able to take him to periodic vet visits at the SPCA of Texas. Right now, Watson just wants the chance to be someone’s devoted best friend and have a cozy spot to call home. They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now!

Questions about Watson
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Watson, as a large mixed-breed dog, does best in homes with enough space for him to settle in and feel secure. He benefits from a calm and quiet household during his recovery period.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Watson needs moderate outdoor space but, while he is on exercise restriction, leash walks around the neighborhood or a quiet yard suffice. Typically, mixed-breed dogs his size enjoy some room to stretch their legs.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Large mixed-breed dogs like Watson often do well with children if properly introduced, but given his current need for quiet and recovery, a calm home without young children may be better right now.
