Roo
AvailableRoo is a brindle mixed breed with a medium coat, living in San Antonio, TX. He’s a young, medium-sized neutered male, and he is fully up to date on his vaccinations. Roo is almost fully house trained and does exceptionally well around other dogs.
About Roo
Roo started life with very little human contact, so he’s naturally wary and slow to warm up with people. After six months of growing up with minimal interaction, he’s still learning to trust but has made some progress, thanks to regular daycare and training in San Antonio. Roo gets along splendidly with every dog he meets and loves the company of other pups. He’s on daily anti-anxiety meds to help him move forward in new situations. While Roo is becoming more playful and affectionate once he feels secure, it takes patience and understanding to earn his trust. He’s close to being house trained (mostly using potty pads) and needs further encouragement on leash walks. Roo is looking for a family that won’t rush him—someone who will let him find comfort at his own pace and give him space to grow. If you can offer patience, a soft spot to land, and a gentle introduction to the world, Roo will be a loyal companion when he’s ready. Your new best friend is just one click away.

Questions about Roo
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Roo, as a mixed-breed dog, generally does well in a calm and patient household. He would thrive with people who can give him space to adjust and a steady, low-stress environment.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Roo’s medium size means he benefits from regular walks and a bit of room to play. While a backyard is helpful, he mostly values having a secure and quiet space to explore at his own pace.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Mixed-breed dogs like Roo can do well with children but, given his shyness, a home with older, gentle kids or adults would be best for now. He needs a calm environment while building confidence.
