About Koda
Most people want a standard dog, one you could spot in a crowd. Koda is the exception—the type you don’t find printed on mugs or talked about in sweeping generalizations. At eleven and about 59 pounds, Koda is mellow, happy with a stroll, and happiest when someone he likes gives him attention. He’s got a cat-like streak: comfortable with his independence, content to nap in a sunny spot, and perfectly fine watching the world on his terms. Koda’s hard of hearing, so life’s chaos isn’t on his radar. Years without proper care left him a bit sensitive, but he’s bounced back. These days, he just prefers canned food and could use someone patient—especially about handling and respect for his boundaries. He isn’t looking for a home with lots of young hands, but he’s got a soft spot for folks who know how to give space. Koda wants to be the only animal in the home. He’s earned his solitary spot on the bed and isn’t interested in roommates of the four-legged kind. Adopters over 65: his adoption fee is just a dollar, plus his future food and routine vet bills are covered. If your home is quiet, and you don’t mind sharing space with an affectionate, sometimes-grumpy soul, Koda might be your guy. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.

Koda, as a mixed-breed husky, thrives in a quiet home where he can relax and have his own space. He suits households that move at a slower pace and appreciate an independent dog.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Huskies usually enjoy outdoor time, but Koda is low-key and mostly enjoys leisurely walks rather than intense exercise. A secure yard is a bonus, but daily strolls will keep him happy.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
While huskies often do well with kids, Koda prefers an adult-only home due to his sensitivities and need for respect around handling.
