About Lou
Lou, a medium-sized adult Domestic Shorthair, was born in late December 2021, making him a practical-minded Capricorn. He came in as a stray from Mt. Olive after surviving on the streets, rescued with an injured ear and a polyp that’s now been removed. Lou is done with the tough life outdoors and wants nothing more than to settle in somewhere safe and steady—ideally with someone who enjoys slow evenings and a cat curled up beside them. He’s a bit reserved when first meeting new people, but give him a little time and he’ll soften up. Lou is neutered, vaccinated (including rabies), microchipped, and has tested positive for FIV, so he’ll always need good indoor care and a watchful eye on his health. He can still live with other cats (proper introductions are key), and, according to the team, he might fit into homes with gentle children or cat-friendly dogs. He’s house trained and has a short, sleek gray and white coat that’s just asking to be petted while you put on a movie. If you’re up for a loyal companion and live within 100 miles of Benld or Springfield, IL, Lou could be waiting for you. What are you waiting for? Apply today!

Domestic Short Hair cats like Lou do not require outdoor space and in Lou’s case, staying indoors is ideal, especially due to his FIV status. A few sunny windowsills or perches will keep him content.
