About Meet Mia — The
Mia – Senior Rehome | Gentle, Loving, Home-Raised Girl Age • Just shy of 8 years old weights 40 pounds Rehome Background (Important) • Mia is a rehome, not a street dog by upbringing • She lived with the same family her entire life • When her family stopped caring for her properly, she was left outside • Despite that, she stayed close to people and other dogs she knew • She naturally gravitated toward and watched over stray dogs on the street • She is very accustomed to people, home life, and companionship Rescue Story • Found while monitoring dogs living under a car on a busy street • Several dogs in the area were tragically hit by cars • When rescued, Mia had: – Skin infections – An eye infection • During her spay surgery, we learned she was already spayed, confirming previous ownership • Rescued alongside Paisley, a 4-month-old husky/shepherd mix (featured on Instagram @UpshotDogRescuePR) Personality • Calm, gentle, and deeply affectionate • Loves being around people • Enjoys quiet companionship and relaxed days • Senior energy — sweet, steady, and easy • Has lived with kids, cats, dogs, and people her entire life • Currently in foster and doing amazing with the resident cat In the Home • Walked right into a crate when rescued (though she doesn’t love being crated) • Does very well loose in the home • Well-mannered, low-maintenance, and easy to live with • Thrives in a calm, loving environment Ideal Home • Warm climate preferred — she truly loves being outdoors • Fenced-in yard ideal so she can safely come in and out • Patio life, sunshine, and a soft place to rest are her dream • A family or person who wants to spoil a senior and give her peace Why Mia • This senior girl deserves to spend her golden years: – Safe – Comfortable – Free from skin and eye pain – Loved and adored the way she always should have been Mia is ready for her forever — one last home where she can finally exhale.
