She’s looking for someone ready to help her keep building on her current training and socialization.
About Marla
Marla is a bright, independent German Shepherd mix with just the right mix of drive and balance. She’s about a year old, leash trained, and relishes her daily walks before letting loose with backyard zoomies. At home, she’s fully house trained, knows how to settle, and rides nicely in the car. Marla thrives with play and enjoys time with other friendly dogs, but she’s not suitable for a home with cats. Her learning curve is sharp—she already knows basic commands, redirects easily, and has left her nippy puppy phase behind in favor of chew toys and smarter habits. She divides her affection and independence evenly, and does just as well quietly entertaining herself as she does hanging out with her people. Marla can be wary around strangers—especially men—and prefers a slow, patient approach. With proper introductions, though, she’s shown she can be comfortable, even accepting treats and walks from some men. Marla enjoys visits to dog-friendly restaurants and shops so long as strangers respect her space. She’s working steadily on her confidence and makes progress daily with gentle, consistent training. This is a dog best matched to a calm, understanding home invested in her continued growth. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
