About Oso
Oso has been waiting for over three years for a home of his own. For more than 1,000 days, Oso has watched other dogs leave rescue with their families while he stays behind. Through it all, he remains gentle, hopeful, and eager for connection. Oso is a collie mix with a joyful spirit and a deeply affectionate nature. After losing his longtime companion, Chico, he was left alone and has been searching ever since for someone to choose him. Despite the long wait, Oso still greets people with warmth and enthusiasm. He loves playtime, yard zoomies, and games of fetch, but he is just as happy curling up beside his people once the day winds down. He is a loving, people-oriented dog who thrives on companionship and being part of daily life. Oso enjoys wide-open spaces and especially loves water. He is house-trained, crate-trained, and does very well on car rides, making him an easy and adaptable companion. Oso does well with female dogs and can be selective with male dogs, though slow and proper introductions can lead to success. He would do best with dog-savvy children who understand how to interact respectfully with an active but gentle dog. A home with a yard where he can run and play would be ideal. After waiting more than three years in rescue, Oso is more than ready to finally belong to a family of his own. He is loyal, resilient, and full of love to give — he just needs someone willing to see past the length of his stay and give him the chance he deserves. Oso is located in Ada, Oklahoma. SRGDRR adopts nationwide and offers transport options. If you are looking for a devoted companion and are ready to give a long-waiting dog the home he has been hoping for, Oso is waiting.
