At 14 years old, Casper strikes a handsome figure but moves through the world with a reserved, tentative air. He tends to be shy at first, especially around new people, and does best when interactions stay gentle and unhurried. While he warms up more quickly to women, he will also grow to trust men over time. Dogs are Casper’s biggest comfort. He gains confidence from his canine friends, following their lead and picking up on their joy and ease. He’s learning that hands can offer gentle, welcome affection—belly rubs are a new treat he enjoys. When he first came to the rescue, he was quite underweight, but steady nutrition and health care have helped him fill out nicely. Casper appreciates good food, regular walks, and having quiet time to nap. His ongoing care includes managing a heart murmur and occasional ear infections, both typical for an older Cocker Spaniel.
