Meet FRANKIE! Frankie is a gentle little guy who is looking for his forever family! He is about 8-9 months old and between 5-9 lbs. Frankie was born as a stray in Puerto Rico and has been looked after and medically cared for by a wonderful and trusted independent rescuer that we work with, Nicole. Nicole feeds Frank twice a day and he pretty much just hangs around her house, lazing on her patio and taking occasional excursions. Due to Nicole reaching her landlord's capacity for the number of animals she can have in her apartment, Frankie unfortunately must remain outside for now; however, we know he would make an absolutely wonderful house cat given his sweet and gentle personality. Frankie has blossomed under Nicole's care! He is sweet, gentle and reserved. He is on the shier side and will take a moment to open up to you but we know he loves human attention and is very loving. He loves his food and likes getting his back scratched while eating it. When his food is being prepared, he will walk around her and rub his body on her, meowing in excitement. Frankie's "street name" (haha) is Flaquito (which means "skinny" in Spanish) because his gentle and reserved personality often prevented him from being the first at the dinner table...and thus kept his waistline slim! In the beginning, he was too shy to approach the feeding area with the other cats around and would often eat whatever his other kitty friends couldn't finish. Now, his confidence has improved and he eats alongside the others happily and has reached a perfect weight. For noting, when Frankie was taken to the vet, he allowed handling and did not at all try to scratch anyone. While the vet wasn't his favorite, he submitted and did fine during his exam. He has been vaccinated and neutered and will go to the vet once more for his last check ups before flying to his forever family. Frankie's best kitty friend is his buddy Nikko who is likes to cuddle with (he is also up for adoption with us). They are not bonded but do like one another if you are looking for 2 cats! We think he would be good with dogs as well. He is gentle. PLEASE NOTE: Frankie is currently in Puerto Rico and will fly to his forever home once adopted. Adoption fees listed here ($250) cover all transport related costs to the States. There are NO other fees. :) We can arrange transport to many places throughout the U.S., although we focus our adoptions on the East Coast with a focus on the Maryland/Virginia area and NYC.
