AvailableAchilles is a large, male German Shepherd Dog with a long coat, currently located in Oro Valley, AZ. He is house trained and has been vaccinated and altered. This affectionate and independent dog is eager to please and is known to be smart and playful. He is an adult but we don't have an exact age for him yet.
About Achilles
Achilles embodies a love for life's simple pleasures. Whether it’s chasing a lizard in the yard or enjoying a gentle shower from the hose, this loyal dog thrives on calm moments with his favorite person. Ideally, he seeks a quiet home where he can find stability and truly settle in. Brought to Como Animal Works through our foster program, Achilles has overcome a challenging past. He has a bite history linked to territorial insecurity, but since joining us, he has shown remarkable progress. With strength in training and respect for his boundaries, he has not had any incidents at our facility. Though he initially displayed some fear of strangers, Achilles has learned to warm up to new faces and other dogs. His future family should take note: Achilles isn't suited for homes with cats or young children due to his prey drive and general sensitivity. He does exhibit some pulling on a leash but responds well to guidance and training. Having completed basic obedience classes and being crate trained, he's ready to continue learning in a structured environment. A patient approach when introducing him to new people will help him thrive. At Como Animal Works, we aim to ensure a smooth transition to your home.
