About Gemma

Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you. Gemma is a super affectionate girl who is estimated to be about 2 years old, though she might be even younger based on her teeth. Likely an American Bully or Staffy mix, with Pit Bull Terrier and Great Dane in her lineage, Gemma weighs in around 62 lbs. Her favorite thing in the world is being close to her people—she's a total cuddle bug who loves snuggling, leaning on you, and will happily snooze right on top of you like a comforting weighted blanket. Her endearing, silly personality and sweet nature shine through every day. Gemma has a low-to-medium energy level and is content with a mix of playtime—fetch, tug-of-war, and chew toys—followed by plenty of lazy naps. She can adapt well to apartment living if her adopter is committed to regular daily walks. Brimming with strength, Gemma is a big puller on the leash, especially when spotting other dogs, so she will benefit from ongoing leash training. Thankfully, she's not reactive on walks, has a gentle approach to treats, and is food-motivated, making her an eager pupil for training. At home, Gemma is a dream companion—fully potty trained, never destructive, and she sleeps soundly through the night. She’s currently thriving in a home with two adults. While her compatibility with other dogs, cats, and children is still being evaluated, due to her size and enthusiasm, she’s best suited for homes with children over 10. Careful, slow introductions to other pets are advised. If you’re seeking a loyal, cuddly companion who will bring laughter and love into your life, Gemma could be your perfect match.
