Millie is available for foster to adopt. Meet beautiful 2 year old 26 pound Millie. The first picture is her before she was shaved of all those horrible painful mats. She is some type of poodle doodle but sadly has been so neglected for so long she was on big matted mess. So happy we could help this sweetheart get out of the shelter and give her the love and vet care she needs. We will be swabbing her for DNA tonight (2/3/26) and sending it off to Wisdom Panel tomorrow. Millie was in the shelter for a week so we know she must feel a huge sense of relief today. We will update you after her appointment tomorrow with her wellness exam results and plan for timing of her spay and heartworm treatment. (the Shelter tested her and thankfully she is negative for parasites but sadly, she is positive for heartworm disease.) After her appointment on 2/4/26 Millie will be available for foster to adopt which we can explain in detail should you be interested. In a nutshell, you foster her for the rescue while she is undergoing her treatment and officially adopt once her vet care is complete. Of course we pay for all vet care and anything you need while she is a foster. She will need to go to one of our 11 vet partners for her care. Those partners are located in: Roxboro, Raleigh, Durham, Hillsborough, Mebane, Charlotte, Greensboro, Winston Salem, and 3 locations in Danville. The application to adopt can also be used for foster to adopt. It is on our website VintageRacersForRescues.com. Fosters for our rescue do not pay an adoption fee.
