About Potato
Potato is a recently turned 4-year-old French Bulldog who has become a true favorite with everyone he meets, including the entire staff at his vet clinic. He's been under careful veterinary supervision, getting all the necessary surgeries, including work on his soft palate and nares, which have improved his breathing, though he still needs a little extra attention. Potato deals with occasional allergies, treated by cytopoint injections every few months, and needs to be fed upright to help his digestion. Sometimes he'll have acid reflux, but it's manageable with medication and the right routine. Despite this, he's an easy keeper for someone experienced or willing to learn his care. He's a quiet, independent dog with a warm, affectionate side and a reputation as an irresistible love bug. Potato is fully up to date on vaccinations, neutered, crate-trained, and reliably house trained—with just the occasional marking you’d expect from a male Frenchie. He gets along with dogs, cats, and children, and enjoys both exploring the yard and lounging inside. Because of his short snout, he needs to stay cool and shouldn’t be over-exercised, a trait common to his breed. The ideal home is in the Orlando area, with a fenced yard, someone often present, and preferably a friendly dog companion. Experience with brachycephalic breeds is a major plus and will be prioritized. The rescue is committed to his lifetime wellbeing, offering free pet sitting, a year of medications as long as he continues at his current Oviedo vet, and even covers his first month of special food. Potato’s adoption will only be considered locally—no exceptions. Every detail of his transition matters to the people who care about him most. Click apply to start the adoption process.

Questions about Potato
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
French Bulldogs like Potato do best in indoor, climate-controlled environments where they're not exposed to excess heat or humidity. Apartment living suits them as long as they get time with their humans and a small yard or regular walks.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Potato, like most French Bulldogs, doesn’t require a huge yard, but a securely fenced small yard makes potty breaks and short play sessions easier and safer. Long intense exercise is unnecessary and not recommended due to his breathing limitations.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
French Bulldogs are generally good with children, and Potato is described as great with kids. Their affectionate and social temperament works well in a family setting when proper introductions and supervision are in place.
