Barron is a truly special boy with the kind of soul that leaves a lasting impression on everyone he meets. He is a large, lovable gentleman currently weighing around 70 pounds, and he’s expected to gain a bit more as his body continues to heal and regain strength. Barron’s past wasn’t easy — he was found as a stray and had been attacked by other dogs, landing him on the BARC euthanasia list. Despite everything he’s been through, Barron chose kindness, trust, and love — and that is exactly who he is today. This sweet boy has the gentlest demeanor. He is calm, affectionate, and incredibly people-oriented. Barron absolutely adores children and has done wonderfully around kids ages 8 and 10, showing patience, softness, and an intuitive understanding of how gentle he needs to be. He’s the type of dog who seems happiest simply being near his humans, soaking up companionship and quiet moments together. Barron also shines when it comes to other dogs. He has done great living with two medium-sized dogs and has happily played with larger dogs at the dog park, he does prefer females. What’s especially remarkable is that even after being attacked, Barron still loves dogs and enjoys their company — a true testament to his forgiving and resilient heart. He would do well in a home with another friendly dog or as a solo pup who gets plenty of social time. Cats, however, are not Barron’s thing, so a cat-free home is a must. But what he lacks in feline compatibility, he more than makes up for with everything else. He’s learning how to play with toys and discovering what it means to just be a dog — something he may not have had the chance to do before. While toys are still a work in progress, Barron has already mastered his favorite activity: being a world-class couch potato. His ideal day includes long naps on the couch, preferably snuggled right next to a human. Barron is a big, gentle presence with a soft heart and an even softer soul. He’s loyal, loving, and endlessly grateful for kindness. He’s looking for a home where he can continue to heal, feel safe, and finally enjoy the life he’s always deserved.
