About Skeeter
Skeeter started out as a nervous stray, unsure of people and hiding behind those big, earnest eyes. He watched from his outdoor kennel for days, just taking it all in—a tough introduction for a dog his size. Slowly, as he adjusted and moved indoors, Skeeter’s real personality took over. Despite being surrounded by bigger dogs, he charged around the shelter floor like he owned the place, charming volunteers with a whirlwind of puppy mischief. He wasn’t a fan of the leash at first—he seemed to think it was a chew toy along with any unsuspecting hands that tried to help. But every day, Skeeter’s trust grows. Now he greets people with enthusiastic tail wags, shares kisses through his kennel bars, and genuinely enjoys playtime with other dogs in the yard. He’s still young, about 1 year old and weighing 30-35 lbs, and he has plenty of energetic antics left. Training is coming up for Skeeter, and he’s already making strides by opening up more to his favorite volunteers. Skeeter’s best future home will include another playful dog to show him the ropes, and for now, he’s seeking a family without small kids—just someone who’s patient, compassionate, and ready to watch him blossom. If you want an affectionate, goofy companion who’ll make you laugh while he figures things out, Skeeter is waiting for you in Warren, OH. Click apply to start the adoption process.
