About John
John ended up at a kill shelter in Alabama but hasn’t lost his puppy spark. He’s a six-month-old Black Labrador Retriever/Boxer mix, still learning the ropes—house training, manners, crate time—but his fosters have made real progress. John has a playful spirit and genuinely wants to be part of a loving family. He does well with other dogs, cats, children, and even horses, which isn’t too common for pups his age. Recently, John had three seizures in one day and was rushed to the emergency vet. After tests, he was diagnosed with idiopathic epilepsy. He’s on daily medication that costs about $20 a month, and he’s remained seizure-free since starting it. The vet may reassess his meds after six months, but he might need them long-term. John’s still the fun, lively puppy he’s always been—eating, playing, and soaking up every bit of love and attention. As a bonus, John’s a Sagittarius, which means he’s likely to have a bold, happy-go-lucky outlook. Ready to bring a resilient, joyful pup into your family? Click apply to start the adoption process.
