After surviving hunger, neglect, abuse, and life as a breeding dog, she remains gentle and full of heart. Ellie can be timid at first, nervous and slow to trust, but she’s eager for affection—she just needs someone patient who can help her feel secure. She blossoms over time, and when she does, you see her playful side: she gets excited for zoomies and enjoys the company of other dogs, easily making friends. With people, Ellie is exceptionally tender, especially with children; she adores the 7-year-old in her foster home and follows them faithfully. She is comfortable in her crate and uses it as a safe retreat, but she also loves curling up beside her favorite people. Leash walking is still a challenge due to earlier trauma, so her adopter should be ready to move at her pace and build her confidence. As a classic Anatolian Shepherd, she is watchful and perceptive, often taking up a gentle guardian role in the home.
