About Bear

Bear is the kind of dog who becomes your loyal shadow—always nearby, always tuned in and ready for a snuggle. He thinks he’s lap-sized, even at 60 lbs, and fiercely attaches to the people in his circle. Bear’s journey started out tough, which left him a bit wary, but he bounces back quickly and relies on his person to help him feel secure. He’s sharp, food-driven, and has picked up an impressive repertoire of commands. Walking on leash with him is a breeze, and his recall is rock-solid. Bear really comes alive in a house with a moderately active, experienced owner. He’s done fine living with older kids but isn’t a fit for households with young children. If you’ve got another chill dog, especially smaller ones, Bear loves to hang out and snuggle up with canine siblings. High-energy or much bigger dogs can be overwhelming for him, though he can get along with most dogs after a proper intro. Bear’s ideal environment is a house rather than an apartment—he does vocalize a bit when left alone, mostly because of mild separation anxiety, but it hasn’t stopped his foster from working full days. He’s not meant for a cat household; living with felines just isn’t his thing. Hiking, road trips, brewery patios, or just crash-out time on the couch—Bear is up for it all. He’s looking for a person who’ll stand up for him, help set boundaries, and keep showing him the world isn’t so scary. Bear’s foster is deeply attached and will keep him if things finally click with her cat, but she hopes to find an even better fit for his forever home. Your new best friend is just one click away.
