Sampson is a likeable fellow who arrived at our shelter as a stray. He's always happy to greet the staff and get leashed up for his walks. He's comfortable in our lobby, and appears to be more of an indoor dog. Sampson weighs 66 pounds and is estimated to be 2-3 years old. He's been friendly with the other dogs here and appears to be uninterested in cats when taken into our cat room. For anyone looking for big hugs and a loyal, intelligent friend, Sampson is the man. The Powell County Animal Shelter is at 121 Echo Hollow Road, Clay City, KY. Shelter hours are 9-3 Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, and 10 to noon on Saturday. Adoption fees for dogs range from $150-$200. The fee covers the mandatory spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, dewormer, and first round of flea and tick preventatives.
