From Ellie Mae's foster Mom.... Ellie is super sweet! She can be cuddly but is not overly needy. She has done great with my other dogs and even my cats! She did want to chase the cats at first but learned quickly that that was not acceptable and now leaves them alone and the cats are pretty comfortable around her. She is very gfod driven but is not food aggressive at all. She has gotten a few things off my counters so I have to be careful about that. She likes to play and is a goofy girl, always resting in funny positions 😆 She is potty trained although when we had her on steroids (which may be a part of her lifelong treatment on and off) she did have accidents (pee only) in the house. I think this was purely related to the steroids which make her extra thirsty and she literally couldn't hold it to make it outside. She is good in the car and not bad on a leash but I would recommend using some sort of anti-pull harness or gentle leader on her because she is strong! We walked her yesterday and she actually didn't pull but froze when a car was coming and I tried to pull her out of the road, lol. She's just not very used to a leash yet. She does like to be outside and sometimes tries to slip out the door when I'm going out so she needs work there. But overall she is very sweet and gentle with kids, cats, and other dogs and will make a great companion to just about anyone. She also has the cutest ears - one of them permanently stands straight up while the other is floppy ☺️ We are a total 501(c) non-profit.
