Chief
AvailableChief is an 8 year and 10 month old neutered male Labrador Retriever/Weimaraner mix with a large frame and a short brown coat. He’s house trained and lives in Grantsville, UT. Chief’s vaccinations are current, making him ready for a safe, healthy transition into a new home.
About Chief
Chief is looking for a patient, understanding home to settle into his senior years. He bonds deeply with his people and loves to simply be near—tagging along for the day’s activities or snoozing on his pillow, content just to be part of your world. House trained and good at letting you know when he needs to go out, Chief makes for easy company. He may be in his golden years, but he still enjoys getting out and has plenty of energy left for adventures. Farm life suits him and he enjoys the company of other dogs with a careful introduction. He isn’t a fan of cats—barn or otherwise—and will chase them, so a cat-free home will be best. Chief’s smart and wants to please, but he’ll need a confident handler; he’s strong and tends to pull on the leash unless guided firmly. He’s had e-collar training and walks nicely once boundaries are set. Grooming, especially nail trims, is a challenge for him and may require ongoing patience. Chief’s biggest requirement is for an adult-only home. He has a history that’s left him wary of children, so a calm, adult household is non-negotiable. If children visit, he’ll need a safe, separate spot. All Chief wants now is a soft place to curl up and a devoted person to spend his days beside. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!

Questions about Chief
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Chief, as a Labrador Retriever/Weimaraner mix, generally thrives in a home with access to outdoor space and plenty of activity, but with his age, he’d appreciate a calm, stable adult household most.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
A large, secure yard is ideal for Chief, but regular walks or adventures can also keep him happy and healthy.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
While his breeds often do well with kids, Chief should not be placed with children due to a negative past experience and his need for an adult-only environment.
