About Pinky
Pinky needs a special adopter with extra patience and empathy. After being returned to the rescue in May 2025, she spent much of her first half-year hiding, emerging mainly to enjoy sunny spaces and gaze outside. Over time, especially by December, Pinky began warming up to her foster mom, purring and relaxing with some gentle attention—she's especially fond of Churu treats. Even so, she’s semi-feral at heart and will likely retreat if moved, needing a long acclimation period if adopted. Her foster home is loving, but there are lots of other cats, so Pinky deserves a chance at more individual care. She’ll do best in a quiet, adult-only home with someone who understands cats that need space and time. Pinky cannot go to a home with children, and she either needs to be the only cat or live with gentle, non-dominant cats. She has not been tested with dogs, so we recommend against it. She’ll need a secure, contained environment at first, since she has a tendency to hide. She won’t show well—you’d be adopting her sight unseen based on trust and compassion. Open to long-term fostering as well, if that fits. Pinky is safe and loved where she is, but another calm, cat-savvy home could bring her even more comfort. Fun fact: Pinky is a Taurus, which might explain her stubbornness and love for cozy sunbeams. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!

Questions about Pinky
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Pinky, as a Domestic Short Hair cat, is generally adaptable but truly thrives in a low-stress, quiet home. Because of her semi-feral history, an experienced, patient adopter in a stable environment will suit her best.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Domestic Short Hair cats like Pinky do not need outdoor access and typically do best indoors, especially when safety or trust issues exist. A cozy indoor spot with windows for sunbathing and watching the world can make her happy.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
While many Domestic Short Hair cats can adjust, Pinky does not get along with children and needs an adult-only household to feel comfortable and secure.
