Meet Mellow Mellow is a 5-year-old male Labrador Retriever / Australian Cattle Dog mix about 73 lbs. with a heart full of love and loyalty. True to his name, he has a very sweet, affectionate side and forms strong bonds with his person. Mellow absolutely loves to cuddle and wants to be close to his human--whether that's on the couch, in bed, or wherever you are. He'll gently ask for kisses, grin at you when he's happy, and let you know what he needs with a clear bark, especially when it's time to go outside. He's an active dog who enjoys long walks, playing fetch, and tug-of-war. Mellow would thrive with an adult who enjoys staying active and can give him both physical exercise and emotional connection. Mellow knows basic commands, is very people-oriented, and is fully vaccinated and up to date on care. He is food-motivated and can be protective of his resources, so he'll do best with someone who understands dog behavior and is comfortable using positive reinforcement (treats work great!) to guide him. Because of his personality, Mellow is best suited for: * An adult-only home * A single-pet household (no other dogs or cats) * Someone patient, confident, and willing to respect his boundaries With the right person, Mellow will be an incredibly loyal companion--the kind of dog who gives his whole heart once he feels safe and understood.
