Fans of Disney’s The Lion King know that Zazu was a talkative hornbill who was tasked with upholding order and delivering a daily morning report to the king. Our Zazu is a quieter kind of guy, but he would like to report that he’s ready to head to his forever home! Sweet Zazu came to the shelter undersocialized and has been working hard to gain confidence and build trust with his human friends. He needs a family who will go at his pace and allow him to continue building confidence in a home environment. Here’s what one volunteer said about Zazu’s progress: “Zazu did really well when I took him out yesterday. He walked right into my leash and exited without any issues. He was nervous on his walk to the yard and stayed close to me. In a yard, his body loosened as he ran around with his kennelmate. He came over a few times for some light petting. Good job Zazu!” Zazu shares his kennel with another PACC pup. He’d like to meet any resident dogs before heading home and would likely benefit from a calm, confident furry friend who can show him the ropes.
