Updated 26Jan26 Sabrina Status: Available for Foster or Adoption Size: Medium Breed: Mixed breed About Me Sabrina is a gentle, shy girl who found herself on the urgent list at the shelter and is now getting the chance to decompress in a safer, calmer environment. When approached directly, she may retreat or avert her eyes, preferring to observe quietly from a distance. While she's cautious at first, Sabrina is making steady progress as she settles in. She does best when allowed to move at her own pace and will often choose to come to her person when she's ready for affection. Personality Sabrina is soft-natured, sensitive, and thoughtful. She prefers calm interactions and responds best to gentle voices and slow movements. While she may seem reserved initially, she enjoys affection and will seek it out on her own terms. She has a sweet, slightly jealous streak - when other dogs are getting attention, Sabrina makes sure she gets her turn too. Socialization Dogs: Doing very well with other dogs and coexisting peacefully in a multi-dog setting. People: Shy but affectionate; prefers to approach rather than be approached. She is separated during mealtimes, which she handles well. Training & House Manners Sabrina is still learning leash skills and currently resists the leash, which is common for fearful or inexperienced dogs. She will need patient, positive reinforcement to build confidence. She uses a kennel when it feels like a safe space, though she does not readily enter one on command.
