About Perry

Perry is about a year old—a German Shepherd mix with a lot of young spirit and a big, eager heart. He’s built for play and thrives on activity, always up for a game of fetch (especially if you have a few extra kongs handy) and the next adventure outside. A home with a fenced yard gives him the space he needs to let loose; he’s happiest when he can run and explore in a secure space. Walks are a favorite too, and though he pulls a bit at first, he settles into a nice rhythm once he gets going. Perry is comfortable in a crate—he’s used to sleeping in one overnight and during the day when left alone. He’s housebroken at his foster, but like many dogs will need patience as he settles into a new home. Perry’s excitement sometimes shows as jumping or being mouthy. He’s still learning proper manners and will do best with consistent physical activity, plenty of mental challenges, and ongoing training. Perry does get along with other dogs, but it has to be a slow, deliberate process when meeting new canine friends. Before adopting, any resident dogs should meet Perry to ensure everyone gets along. Cats, though, are definitely off-limits—Perry sees them as prey. Perry didn’t have the best start in life, coming from poor conditions with little socialization, but he’s making up for lost time and learning fast. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
